New Low-Temp ablation technique may boost survival in recurrent nasal cancer

NCT ID NCT04425265

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study compares a newer, low-temperature plasma ablation method with standard high-frequency electrocautery surgery for people whose nasopharyngeal cancer has come back after initial treatment. About 500 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedures. The goal is to see if the low-temperature approach leads to better progression-free survival and offers a simpler surgical option.
