Sound waves may quiet shaky hands in new trial

NCT ID NCT07599592

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether repeated low-intensity focused ultrasound pulses can safely reduce tremors in people with essential tremor. Twenty adults will receive six treatment sessions over two weeks, with tremor severity measured before and after. The goal is to see if this non-invasive approach can temporarily calm the brain circuits causing the shaking.
