First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests whether a low dose of psilocybin (a compound from magic mushrooms) combined with talk therapy is safe and helpful for easing chronic cancer pain in 20 adults who already take opioids. Participants will receive psilocybin in a supervised setting and undergo counseling to address the emotional and spiritual aspects of pain. The goal is to see if this approach can reduce pain intensity and improve well-being without major side effects.
