Cheap eye scanner could spot Alzheimer's clues

Summary
This study tests a new, low-cost eye scanner to see if it can take clear pictures of the retina, the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye. Researchers will compare images from their custom device to a standard commercial scanner. They will also measure the thickness of retinal layers, which may change in people with Alzheimer's disease. The study involves 82 participants, including some with mild Alzheimer's-related memory problems.
