Summary
This study tested whether a low-carbohydrate diet, supported by a smartphone app, could help people with type 2 diabetes control their blood sugar and lose weight. 115 adults recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and who were overweight took part. The program provided meal plans and group support remotely. The main goal was to see if the diet improved blood sugar levels over 3 months and 1 year compared to usual care.
