First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gel containing lovastatin, placed under the gum after deep cleaning, can improve gum health better than cleaning alone. It includes 44 adults with periodontitis, both smokers and non-smokers, and compares treated and untreated teeth in the same person over six months. The goal is to see if the gel helps reduce pocket depth and inflammation.
