First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at whether lotus seed capsules can improve health in people with type 2 diabetes who have nerve damage (diabetic neuropathy). Sixty adults took either a standard diabetes treatment plus a placebo or the same treatment plus lotus seed capsules for 3 months. Researchers checked blood sugar, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, nerve health, and immune markers. The goal was to see if lotus seeds could help control the disease and ease nerve-related problems.
