First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This completed study tested whether lotus seed capsules could improve nerve health, blood sugar, and immune function in 60 people with type 2 diabetes and nerve damage. Participants took either lotus seed or placebo capsules for 9 months alongside their regular diabetes treatment. Researchers measured changes in body mass index, blood sugar, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, nerve damage scores, and immune markers.
