Could a common blood pressure drug protect hearts in sickle cell disease?

Summary
This study tests whether losartan, a blood pressure medication, can reduce or prevent scarring in the heart muscle of people with sickle cell disease. About 24 participants aged 6 and older will take losartan for one year. Researchers will use MRI scans to measure changes in heart scarring and check if heart function and exercise ability improve.
