New injection could offer days of pain relief after lung surgery

NCT ID NCT06165991

Summary

This study is testing whether a new, long-acting numbing medicine (liposomal bupivacaine) works better than the standard version for pain control after minimally invasive lung surgery. Researchers will give the injection near the spine to block pain nerves and measure how well it controls pain and reduces the need for opioid painkillers over several days. The goal is to help patients recover more comfortably with fewer side effects from strong pain medications.
