Arm cuff therapy may shield heart attack survivors from repeat events
NCT ID NCT07181356
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tests whether a non-invasive treatment called remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) can reduce the risk of major heart and brain events in people who have had a heart attack. About 2,146 participants will use a blood pressure cuff on their arm to briefly restrict blood flow, repeated over the long term. The goal is to see if this simple technique lowers rates of death, another heart attack, stroke, or heart failure hospitalizations.
