First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a blood pressure cuff on the arm for short periods, over many months, can reduce the chance of another heart attack, stroke, or death in people who have already had a heart attack. About 2,146 participants will be followed to see if this simple, non-invasive method improves long-term heart health. The approach is called remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC).
