Diabetes reversal study tracks transplant patients for years
NCT ID NCT01999374
Summary
This study follows people with type 1 diabetes who previously received experimental islet cell transplants in earlier trials. The goal is to track how long the transplanted cells continue working and monitor safety over many years. All participants must continue taking immunosuppressant medications to prevent their bodies from rejecting the transplanted cells. Researchers will measure insulin production to see how well the transplants are still functioning.
