Could one HPV shot be enough? 20-Year study investigates

NCT ID NCT03309033

First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study follows nearly 1,000 women from an earlier HPV vaccine trial to see how long their immune protection lasts—up to 20 years after getting 1, 2, or 3 doses. Researchers will test blood samples over time to measure antibody levels and check if any women lose protection. The goal is to understand whether one dose might be enough to prevent HPV-related cancers.
