Could one HPV shot be enough? 20-Year study investigates

NCT ID NCT03309033

First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study follows nearly 1,000 women who previously received one, two, or three doses of the HPV vaccine in Costa Rica. Researchers want to see how long the body's defenses against HPV last, up to 20 years after vaccination. By testing blood samples over time, they hope to learn whether one dose may be enough to protect against HPV-related cancers.
