Stomach sleeping in ICU: does it help COVID survivors years later?
NCT ID NCT06080737
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study followed 137 people who had severe COVID-19 pneumonia and were treated in the ICU with high-flow oxygen. Researchers wanted to see if lying on the stomach (awake prone positioning) improved quality of life more than two years later. Participants were contacted by phone to answer questions about their health, daily activities, and pain. The goal was to understand long-term effects, not to test a new treatment.
