Scientists probe hidden cause of long COVID breathing struggles
NCT ID NCT06105450
Summary
This study aimed to understand why some people who had mild COVID-19 still experience breathlessness and fatigue long after recovery. Researchers tested 25 non-hospitalized patients to see if weakness in their main breathing muscle, the diaphragm, could be the cause. They used specialized lab tests to measure diaphragm strength and function, hoping to find a physical explanation for these persistent symptoms.
