EDS patients report numbing shots Don't work – study investigates

NCT ID NCT04036305

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether local anesthetics (numbing shots) work less effectively in people with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) compared to healthy volunteers. Researchers will measure pain responses after injecting lidocaine and saline into the skin. The goal is to understand if resistance to numbing medicine is real and whether it fades too quickly.
