Common numbing drug tested as potential weapon against aggressive breast cancer

NCT ID NCT07458204

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting a common local anesthetic (levobupivacaine) around the tumor and nearby nerves before breast-conserving surgery can help patients with triple-negative breast cancer. The goal is to see if this simple addition to standard surgery can reduce the risk of the cancer coming back or spreading, thereby improving survival. The trial will involve 760 women who have already had chemotherapy and are scheduled for surgery.
