NCT ID NCT06657872

First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a special catheter to deliver local anesthesia directly into the prostate can replace general anesthesia for a water vapor treatment (Rezum) for enlarged prostate. About 24 men with symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia will be randomly assigned to receive either local or general anesthesia. The main goal is to see if local anesthesia reduces time in the operating room while still controlling pain effectively.
