Scientists seek to crack the code for predicting liver transplant success

NCT ID NCT03694691

Summary

This study aims to create a new scoring system to help doctors decide if a donated liver is healthy enough for transplant. Researchers will collect small tissue samples from 60 patients' livers before and after their transplant surgery. By analyzing these samples, they hope to find biological markers that predict how well the new liver will function, potentially allowing more donated livers to be used safely.
