Summary
This study tested a technique called ischemic preconditioning (IPC) in 81 adults having major liver surgery. Before the main operation, surgeons briefly stopped blood flow to the liver to see if it would reduce liver injury. The goal was to lower liver enzyme levels after surgery, which indicate less damage.
