New MRI method could spot risky drug interactions early
NCT ID NCT07541807
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special MRI scan can measure how two common drugs, metformin and ciclosporin, affect the liver's ability to process a contrast dye. Twelve healthy adults each had MRI scans before and after taking one of the drugs. The goal was to see if this imaging technique could become a safe, non-invasive tool for detecting drug-drug interactions early in development.
