First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This early-phase study tests the safety of a new treatment for liver cirrhosis. The therapy uses tiny particles (extracellular vesicles) from umbilical cord stem cells, given through a vein. Up to 12 adults with moderate-to-severe liver damage will receive increasing doses to see if it is safe and shows any signs of helping the liver.
