Researchers probe deadly fungal threat in vulnerable liver patients

NCT ID NCT07238114

Summary

This study aims to better understand why some critically ill patients with liver cirrhosis develop a severe, life-threatening fungal lung infection called invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA). Researchers will analyze data and tissue samples from 450 adult patients admitted to the intensive care unit to identify specific risk factors and how the infection impacts their health outcomes. The goal is to improve early detection and treatment for this dangerous complication.
