Radiation beads aim to grow liver for Life-Saving surgery
NCT ID NCT04390724
Summary
This study is for people with liver cancer (HCC) who need surgery but don't have enough healthy liver tissue left for a safe operation. Researchers are testing a treatment called Y90 radioembolization, which uses tiny radioactive beads to target the tumor and may also help the healthy part of the liver grow larger. The goal is to find the best dose of this radiation treatment to help patients' livers grow enough to become eligible for potentially curative surgery.
