Searching for a crystal ball in the liver: can a simple test predict who survives?

NCT ID NCT07176741

Summary

This study aims to find a better way to predict how patients with severe alcohol-related hepatitis will fare. Researchers will look back at old liver tissue samples from 300 people to measure levels of a protein called TREM-1. They want to see if high or low levels of this protein can tell doctors which patients are most at risk of dying or not responding to standard steroid treatment.
