Searching for a better test to guide Life-or-Death liver treatment

NCT ID NCT07176741

Summary

This study aims to find a better way to predict how patients with severe alcohol-related hepatitis will fare. Researchers will analyze old liver biopsy samples from 300 people to measure levels of a protein called TREM-1. They want to see if high or low levels of this protein can help doctors decide which patients need stronger treatments, like steroids, and which might be at higher risk of dying.
