First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether liraglutide, a drug used for diabetes and weight loss, can help children aged 6 to 12 with severe obesity lose weight and improve heart function. About 30 children will receive either the drug plus lifestyle advice or lifestyle advice alone for 6 months. The goal is to see if the drug can reduce body mass index (BMI) and improve heart health, but ongoing management is still needed.
