NCT ID NCT03856632
First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether liraglutide, a medication that reduces fat and promotes weight loss, can shrink the fat deposits around the heart and help stabilize atrial fibrillation (AF) in people who have had a catheter ablation. About 60 adults with AF and a BMI of 27 or higher will receive liraglutide alongside their ablation procedure. The goal is to see if reducing this heart fat can lower the chance of AF returning.
