Blood test could spot breast cancer without needles or scans
NCT ID NCT06336928
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a blood test called a liquid biopsy can accurately detect breast cancer. Researchers will compare the blood test results with mammograms and standard tissue biopsies in 490 women. If the blood test works well, it could offer a less invasive way to screen for breast cancer in the future.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a simple blood test that helps detect breast cancer earlier or more easily.
What could go wrong
This is an early validation study, not a treatment trial. The blood test may not be accurate enough to replace current methods, and results may not apply to all populations.
Conditions
The condition(s) this trial relates to.
