New pain block may speed recovery after lung surgery

NCT ID NCT07512635

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a long-lasting numbing medicine (liposomal bupivacaine) injected between the ribs before lung surgery can help patients recover better than the standard numbing medicine. About 96 adults having keyhole lung surgery will take part. The goal is to see if this approach reduces pain and the need for strong painkillers after surgery.
