First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether the antibiotic linezolid can effectively treat early syphilis (primary, secondary, or early latent). About 24 adults with a positive blood test will receive linezolid, and researchers will check if their blood test improves by at least 4-fold within 6 months. People with well-controlled HIV can also join. The goal is to find a new treatment option for syphilis.
