Brain injury trial tests 'Zero-Fluid' strategy in ICU

NCT ID NCT07625995

First seen Jun 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether keeping a strict, neutral fluid balance (not too much, not too little) is safe and possible for adults with traumatic brain injury in the intensive care unit. About 88 participants will be randomly assigned to either a controlled fluid plan or standard care for the first 5 days. Researchers will track organ health, brain pressure, and recovery up to 6 months later.
