Summary
This study is testing a new type of surgery for people who have had a leg amputated. The goal is to help them better control their residual limb, restore a sense of where the limb is in space (proprioception), and reverse muscle wasting. The study will enroll 26 adults who already have a below- or above-knee amputation and are experiencing pain or skin problems. The surgery aims to reconnect muscles in a new way to improve function and quality of life.
