Heart pump trial aims to save Patients' legs

NCT ID NCT07482865

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to prevent leg damage in critically ill patients who need a mechanical device to support their heart. It will compare two approaches for placing a small catheter to maintain blood flow to the leg: placing it for everyone right away versus placing it only if signs of leg problems appear. The goal is to determine which strategy better prevents serious leg complications while patients are on heart support.
