Light beams aim to stop painful mouth sores in cancer patients

Summary

This study tests two light-based devices to prevent and treat painful mouth sores caused by radiation therapy in 60 adults with head and neck cancer. Patients receive light sessions twice a week to prevent sores, then three times a week if sores appear. The goal is to see which device works better at reducing severe mouth sores and treatment delays.
