First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to treat gum disease (periodontitis) using a light-activated dye delivered inside tiny biodegradable particles. The goal is to see if this method kills more bacteria than the dye alone, offering a stronger non-surgical option. The study will enroll 27 adults with stage III gum disease and follow them for 6 months.
