Summary

This study tested whether using lidocaine instead of opioids during anesthesia induction can prevent low blood pressure in adults having emergency abdominal surgery. 149 patients were randomly assigned to receive either lidocaine-based or opioid-based anesthesia. The main goal was to see how often low blood pressure occurred right after anesthesia was given.
