First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether lidocaine or dexmedetomidine works better for pain relief after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (weight loss surgery). Forty adults aged 20-50 with a BMI of 35-50 will receive one of the two drugs during surgery. Researchers will measure pain levels, how soon additional pain medicine is needed, and patient satisfaction. The goal is to improve early recovery and reduce complications like nausea and vomiting.
