Can a simple spray make robotic surgery safer and more comfortable?

Summary
This study tests whether spraying a numbing medicine (lidocaine) on the vocal cords before placing a breathing tube can lower pain and stress responses during robotic surgery. About 80 adults having robotic surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either lidocaine spray or a placebo (salt water) spray. The goal is to see if lidocaine helps keep heart rate and blood pressure more stable and reduces sore throat after surgery.
