NCT ID NCT07274254

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding lidocaine to standard pain treatment can lower the amount of strong opioids needed by adults with sickle cell disease during a severe pain crisis in the ICU. About 104 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either lidocaine or a placebo alongside usual care. The goal is to see if lidocaine helps control pain while reducing opioid use and side effects.
