First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving the numbing drug lidocaine through a vein during colon cancer surgery can reduce pain, lower the need for strong painkillers, and help the bowels start working again sooner. About 100 adults having laparoscopic colon cancer surgery will be randomly assigned to receive lidocaine, a high dose of dexamethasone, or a placebo. The goal is to improve recovery without major side effects.
