First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looked at whether giving lidocaine as a spray into the breathing tube could prevent dangerous rises in brain pressure during suctioning in children with severe traumatic brain injury. Ten children in the intensive care unit were enrolled. The goal was to see if the spray worked as well as or better than the usual method of putting lidocaine directly into the tube.
