Summary
This study tested whether giving the numbing drug lidocaine through a vein during weight-loss surgery could help people recover faster. 180 adults having bariatric surgery took part. The goal was to see if lidocaine could lower the need for strong painkillers (opioids) after the operation and improve recovery.
