Scientists investigate why steroids fail some lichen planus patients
NCT ID NCT05330572
First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026
Summary
This study looks at why some people with lichen planus (a painful inflammatory condition affecting the mouth, skin, or genitals) don't get better with standard steroid treatment. Researchers will study 110 patients to find links between their age, health habits, mouth bacteria, and immune markers and how well they respond to therapy. The goal is to improve diagnosis and develop more personalized treatments in the future.
