New laser imaging could unlock secrets of lung disease

Summary
This study looks at whether a special imaging technique (LIBS) can detect tiny metal or mineral particles in lung tissue that might be causing chronic lung disease. About 70 adults who already had a lung biopsy will have their stored samples re-analyzed. The goal is to help doctors better understand what caused the disease, not to provide a new treatment.
