NCT ID NCT04317807
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding levetiracetam (a seizure medication) to standard antipsychotic treatment can reduce psychotic symptoms and protect the brain in people with early psychosis. 65 participants who had been ill for less than 5 years and still had symptoms despite treatment took either the drug or a placebo for 12 weeks. The goal was to see if the drug could help where antipsychotics alone fell short.
