Cancer trial tests if less surgery is just as good
NCT ID NCT07369882
Summary
This study is testing whether less extensive surgery can work as well as standard surgery for patients with advanced head and neck cancer. All participants first receive drug treatment to shrink their tumors. Those who respond well are then randomly assigned to receive either the standard surgery or a less extensive version that aims to preserve more tissue and function. The main goals are to see if both approaches control the cancer equally well while improving patients' quality of life after surgery.
