First seen Dec 04, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using very small blood samples (micro-methods) instead of standard adult-sized samples can improve health in extremely premature babies (born before 27 weeks). The goal was to reduce lung disease (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) and other serious complications. About 200 babies took part, and researchers compared their need for oxygen and other outcomes.
